Swalden_28 (508), McKinney, Texas, USA May 5, 2008 Canned, from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX.
Pours a nice orangy copper with off-white head. Aroma of fruity hop’s and malt. Taste is sweet malt, hop’s. Nice bitter in the end. Medium carbonation with full mouthfeel.....good beer.
scoobysnak (238), Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, USA Jul 14, 2008 One of the nicest looking APA’s I’ve had a pillowy offwhite head that had awesome lacing and great staying power. Smell is resiny hops with a good citrus note and some ruby grapefruit also, with a little malt presence. Taste is very nice. Good sweet citrus taste with some grapefruit and a mice malts presence too it. A very good APA, I don’t after drinking a couple Oskar Blues out of can I am starting to really like the canning idea. skoisirius (429), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 14, 2008 Can and tap. As far as the so-called American Pale goes...heh, to me, THIS is a Pale! Not thinned out and watery like most, Dale’s brings a huge malt presence up front and then just pushes a slightly unbalanced (in a good way of course) flushes of bitter hops all over the palate. Perfect for camping as it’s not too heavy in ABV, and its compactable! This is one of my summer favorites! Nihon (188), Vernon, Connecticut, USA Jul 12, 2008 Canned, nice pour copper/amber color. Very nice floral hoppy aroma. Taste is much better than I expected(don’t judge a book by it’s cover!), very hoppy, not too bitter, definite notes of citrus, almost grapefruit. Aftertaste was a little strong(which can be good or bad, depending on your perspective), but the can I had was pretty warm. sleestak (26), Williamston, Michigan, USA Jul 12, 2008 12 oz. can. Pours a golden-copper color with a two-finger creamy head. A lot of biscuit in the aroma punctuated with citrus and floral hops. Flavor has tangy hops up front followed by strong malt leading into a bitter hop finish. Very balanced. Mouthfeel is smooth but fairly heavy - possibly the only impediment for this being a stellar session beer. Now, if only Oskar Blues was to be had in Michigan... SCBrew (6), San Clemente, California, USA does not count Jul 9, 2008 What a great Pale Ale! Pours clear orangey-copper. Aroma is fruity with hops standing out. Easy drinking and great flavor
