Pours a light copper color with a light white foamy head. The aroma is nice piny hops, some light malt behind the hops. The flavor was very nice; some strong hops, mostly piny and some light citrus, light caramel malts. Very drinkable, and no alcohol present at all. HonkeyBra (1361), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Dark amber pour with a big ol’ off white head. Looks great. Well-balances, caramelly and hoppy nose. Flavor is great, albeit a bit thin. Lots of great spicey hops and caramel malt. Extremely well-balanced for a IIPA. Also, it’s cool that it’s in a can. Lots of hop character pine, citrus, and earthy hop notes. A strong malty backbone with a light etoh warming well masked by hops. PolishHammer (64), , Connecticut, USA

A little watery in the palate, but the falvor is great....the 8.7 ABV is extremely well hidden. Almost no alcohol flavor or nose. Overall, a great beer in this style. pollardjt (26), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Great beer. I love what Oskar Blues is doing to promote craft beer in a can. Pours a beautiful red amber, with a tan/off-white head. The hops hit you straightaway, but are balanced nicely with some sweeter notes and some really nice spice. I wish I could remember more, but that 8.7% ABV caught up with me. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA

Very sweet, and bitter, but didnt have hop flavor. Aroma was nice, but the hop flavor was really lacking. I hope it was old. ksurkin (405), Norfolk, Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2008 draft at barleys in greenville. pours a dark amber color with touches of red when the light hits. topped with a half inch creamy head. aroma is excellent with big sweet hops, rose, cinnamon, orange peel, and pear. flavor is dominated by hops but leads to flavors of orange, rock candy, and hints of kentucky bourbon. palate is very smooth and easy drinking without a hint of the 8.7%. another great beer from the kings of cans.
