I didn’t like this much. I can’t even pin down the flavors. When I took the first drink I immediately said “yuck”. esjaygee (1578), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA

Taste is sweet and sticky with strong burst of hops, mostly floral. First beer I’ve had poured from a can in a long, long time and it didn’t taste like it came from one. mar (1916), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2008 Most expensive can of beer I’ve ever drank... but worth it. Extremely hoppy and sticky sweet. Pours, though, with a full creamy head (large bubbles), nice dark color for a strong ale, and comes across more as a malty IPA. A sharp spice does hit the nose, but isn’t quite as present on the palate. Good beer, but not smooth enough for two in a sitting. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 7, 2008 12 oz. Can. Pours a coppery red with a decent sized head and persistent lacing. Aroma is surprisingly strong with lots of pine. The mouthfeel of this beer is pretty solid with an impressive amount of what I guess is 2 row to hold up to the strong hop dosage. The beer also has an undeniably resinous and sticky palate as well. Flavor has some recognizable citrus notes with tastes of orange and grapefruit. Also shows some sweetness from the malt and a subtle bread flavor. The finish is long and somewhat bitter with a touch of alcohol. Personally I think this beer is a bit closer to being an Imperial Red than a 2IPA, but either way, its pretty good. The can puts off some people.
