Can purchased at Liquor Mart in Boulder. Pours a nearly clear auburn with two fingers of creamy beige head and sticky lace. The nose is of sweet citrus and mango hop notes over a sweet amber ale-like malt note. On the light side of medium-bodied and slightly "grainy" with a big, bitter, lingering finish. The flavor follows the nose. It’s essentially a big, fruity and resinous hopped amber ale. This is a nice beer. I wish we could get it here in KC.

Can from Whole Foods (Bowery/E Houston). Dark amber body with thick white head. Nice hoppy nose. Rich taste of hops and pine. Really smooth and well done. A delight and another fantastic beer in a can by the guys and girls from Oskar Blues.

Pours a reddish copper body with some brown hints-pretty opaque. Nice 1 finger foamy white head. Smells sort of like an IPA with some citrus hops, but also fairly malty for this style. Tastes like it smells with a nice balance of hops and malts with some caramel hints. More complex flavors than your average DIPA. Feels nice going down-relatively smooth but thick enough to coat as it goes down. Little carbonation. Overall an interesting DIPA-not particularly what I was expecting. I agree with what others say regarding it being a bit amber ale-like in quality. Quite nice.

The spicy aroma of this IPA was very present as my glass was seemingly covered with this big, yet clean, flavored ale. As I have been favoring double ipa-s recently, this dark amber ale was very refreshing and a welcome change in my otherwise uneventful day. The elements of caramel style malts and the sparkling hops made this very easy to drink.

A: Pours a beautiful copper hue with a nice sticky head. S: Wow nice hop profile. Lots of bitter citrus and sweet pine. Hints of caramel malt poke thru as well. T: Taste is married to the nose. Overloaded on hops without being too bitter. Bold citrus up front, but sweet pine tones things down a bit. Add in some nice toasted and citrus malt and you have a very drinkable IPA. M: Medium to full bodied, rather full for the style. Good carbonation.

12 ounce can pours a beautiful amberish red. Smells like hops and happy. Tastes like hops and even more happy. This beer is awesome. Very well balanced and the 8.7 is completely hidden. I like this one a lot.

Can pours deep copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is heavy in caramel and pine. Flavor shows the same but leans more towards toffee and peaches. Overall body is moderate and sticky with soft carbonation. Oskar Blues, king of the can.
