patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 21, 2009 tap at the Lyons brewpub "one nut brown ale" - Pours medium brown and has a mild caramel malt aroma. The flavor is roast caramel malt with some nuttiness. In other words, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a brown ale. Medium bodied, it’s a decent brew. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 12, 2009 Tap at the brewpub - "one-nut brown ale" - yet another boring american-made brown ale - dark amber/brown - quickly disappearing head - lightly toasty aroma - the flavor is a bit overly sweet, with some notes of roast, chocolate, a hint of maple, even a touch of earthy peat - it’s funny they wanted to call it little chub, because my initial impression was that it tasted like watered-down Old Chub - perhaps it is? iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 1, 2009 On tap @ the brewpub, named One Nut Brown tonight. Pours a hazy brown with a small beige head, slowly fading to a film. Aroma of toast and chocolate malts. Flavor follows with some toasty malts and light grain, some chocolate in the backend. Bitterness peaked @ a 2.. Light to moderate carbonation with a a body much the same. It is what it is--OK. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jun 28, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy root beer brown with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet, lightly nutty malt with a touch of fruitiness in support. Light to medium-bodied and slightly astringent with a drying palate. Sweet, nutty and malty with a slightly hoppy finish. A decent brown. FlyingSwine (169), Littleton, Colorado, USA May 30, 2009 LOVED IT.
Draft @ brewery. Pours a very nice looking cloudy brown, with a frothy off-white head. Some lacing. Aroma of roasted malts (not over burnt). Flavor similar, a touch of sweetness, and well balanced. Palate is smooth and creamy. Overall I found this to be a good tasting, highly drinkable brown ale. Would buy tons if I didn’t have to drive to Lyons to drink it. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Mar 15, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra and Honkeybra. Kinda sweet but has some aight roast. Not incredible. Oskar’s second biggest disappointment. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2009 Draft at brewery. Body-dark brown with a thick ring of bubbles and a patchy film of bubbles. Nose-light sweet melon rind, wet malts, wet cardboard. Taste-well, it’s a Brown Ale. Semi-dry, bark, light peanut shell, lightly grassy, hay, light sawdust, very light alcohol on the back end, medium CO2, cottony. Bark and nut dominate. What else can I say? It’s a Brown Ale-nothing more, nothing less. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Jan 18, 2009
