GABF 2006: Clear dark chestnut color. The aroma was sweet and toasty with notes of toffee and diacetyl. Malty and sweet flavor had a moderate amount of roasted malt. Some coffee notes poke through.

Draught at Brewery: Aroma of rotten eggs was very faint. Poured brown in color. Good, off-white head lasted. Great lacing. Clear and sparkling. Flavor was smokey and roasted. Slightly sweet and malty. Not much to the flavor. Light to medium body. Average carbonation. Short finish. Overall, nothing special, or to drink again.

They re-named it Darryl and served it from a can at GABF ’06... Clear, deep amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Subtle, diacetyl aroma with notes of caramel and butterscotch which are appropriate for the style. Nutty, lightly sweet caramel and butterscotch flavor. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Chocolatey, mildly bitter finish.

Clear brown/dark amber. Light tan head. Aroma is restrained roasty malt. Flavor is roasty caramel malt, brown sugar/molasses, mild hops. Medium body, smooth. Great session brown, perfect for the beach late in the day.
