Oskar Blues Oktoberfest

Draught at Oskar Blues Grill & Brew. Clear brown - white head. Malty sweetness, chocolate, high malty, berries, soapy, light nutty. Nice.

Draft at the brewpub. Malty and lightly fruity aroma, plenty of caramel and faint apple, berry and mildly herbal hop. Medium-dark copper color, head is very fine and slight. Malt dominates the flavor, sweet and sugary plenty of caramel and mild toast, with a very gently fruity finish an almost imperceptible bitterness. Gentle red apple skin undertones. Light-medium amount of effervescence, body is light-medium as well. Lacking somewhat in balance.

Draught. Low but lasting off-white head. Weak malt caramel aroma. Sweet caramel cream butter flavor without much hops bitterness. Low carbonation, short aftertaste.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear amber coloured with a small off white head. Malty arom aof caramel with notes of cookies. Malty flavour of caramel and hops with notes of cookies. Hoppy finish.

Tap @ brewpub. Clear light brown color, short head. Toasty, malty, some hop. Bitterish taste, malty. Ok.

Copper pour with small off-white head. Roasted sweet nose. Nice little roasted flavor of caramel and somewhat nutty. Medium body with a lingering sweetness on the finish.

tap at brewery. golden/copper pour iwth thin white head. nutty, musky malts and floral hop aroma. off balance. slight sourness and funk. not bad but not right.

Draught. Head is fully diminishing. Body is medium to dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (malt syrup, caramel, roasted grain), with a note of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Disappointing, but they can’t all be winners I suppose. Very syrupy, raw, sweet...almost seemed unfinished. I literally could not finish a half pint, and I love the style.
