Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

This canned brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of fine to large sized dark brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation black colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was dark chocolate dark malt and semi-sweet. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Pours dark as used oil with very little head. Flavor includes coffee, chocolate, hops, and bourbon. Alcohol is very prevelant. The palate becomes smoother with warming. Ecellent high IBU imperial stout. I highly recomend.

I’ve had this on draft and from the can. Great either way but the alcohol could be better hidden (a pet peeve of mine). Otherwise, about what you’d expect.

The Ten Fidy is one outstanding ipmy stout! The color with just about pitch black with a big and inviting tan head. There is quite a large amount of lacing left around the glass, as well. The nose is full of character, with notes of chocolate, dark roasted coffee, oats, barley, toasted bread and light hops. The body is terrificly delicious, with much of the same from the aroma, but with a great balance of hoppy spiciness. The body was thick, with more notes of chocolate, coffee, bread and cream. The finish is creamy, with a hint of vanilla, rounded off with a good amount of dry hoppiness. This is definitely one delicious stout!

This was without a doubt, the best beer I have ever drank from a can! Once you look past the aluminum packaging, you find that Oskar Blues Ten FIDY is a fantastic imperial stout. Deep brown / lack in color with a beautifully explosive chocolate head. The flavor is full of coffee, chocolate and raising. The finish is thick and filling. Bonus points for an aluminum can!

One of the few out of region brews that we are lucky enough to have in the Pittsburgh area. Appearance is a very dark and viscous looking brew. Carbonation was not present when opening the can, but managed to pour it into a small head anyway that gave way to a crown with decent lacing. Nose is a lot of chocolate up front, toffee, caramel, and cream. Very nice in hiding the alcohol. Taste is pretty good, disguising the alcohol well but surprisngly not very bold. The same tastes are what was present in the scents. Mouth is great, pretty heavy in body and light in carbonation. Drinkability is good as I would have this again, and it’s novel to have a high quality brew in a can, however for your Russian imperial stouts, I may shop around a bit.

Can. Pours a deep black with a gorgeous thick brown head that lingers. Aroma of malt, coffee, wood, dark fruits. Taste of malt, lots of coffee and dark chocolate, brown sugar, and wood. Lingering sharp coffee/malt flavors. Very nice.

Pours a thick deep black color. Viscous pour, almost like it would coat the side of the glass. Aroma was pretty boozy, but had some nice roasted malt coffee, chocolate odors. Flavor was also fairly boozy, but not unpleasantly so. Good balance. Nice imperial stout.
