Very chewy. Milkshake is a good comparison. A little one-note as far as i’m concerned- chocolate, and very roasty-bitter on the finish. Lacking complexity. Maybe I shouldn’t have drank this when I was full. carboloader (321), Houston, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2009 I bought this having no idea what it was -- simply something new that I had not rated before. It’s in a can...how good could it be? Imagine my surprise when this stuff pours out indeed looking like motor oil from a diesel truck. No head whatsoever. viscous and opaque. I sip. I can’t even taste the alcohol, but the malts are deliciously deep, rich, and smooth. I also can’t identify the IBUs -- everything is so nicely balanced. 10 minutes later, I’m buzzing like I just sipped some moonshine. Only then do I realize the wonder of this creation. Call me thoroughly impressed. This is one for winter, to be slipped graciously slow and coddled like a warm and toasty blanket in an ice storm. Try it. You will more than like it. handsomejn (29), Arkansas, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Thick on the palate. Nearly black in color with a frothy dark brown top. The taste is like chocolate oatmeal only chewier. The alcohol is well hidden, warmth and aftertaste of bourbon are the clues. DSG (1514), Tel Aviv, Israel

Black-colored with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, lots of chocolate and coffee. Sweet chocolatey flavor with some nuts, caramel hints, some roastiness, light fruitiness and licorice. Finish is slightly drier. Full-bodied. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7
(11/17/08) Can at Birreria Paradiso in Washington DC. A completely black beer with a big beautiful chocolate brown head. Aroma of espresso, some dark chocolate, burnt malt and hints of alcohol. Bittersweet flavor with some coffee, bitter chocolate, some herbal hints and a bitter finish. A nice thick mouthfeel. A very good Imperial Stout. 7/5/8/4/15=3.9 CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 28, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Aroma: how do I describe? Musk, dark fruits, wood, and... the generic awesomeness. Flavor is sexy. Surprisingly thin-bodied, but also incredible. HighWine (165), , California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 27, 2009 Tap. Pour is thick black with a thick head that looks like chocolate milk. Taste is roasty with chocolate and alcohol. I’d love to try a batch that has been aged for about 7 - 12 months. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA

The flavor was ultra smooth, chocolate, creamy, coffee, and a hint of vanilla. Overall, one of my new favorite stouts. fidel (976), Livermore, California, USA
