It has a roasted aroma with notes of coffee and bitter dark chocolate. The flavor is of coffee, dark chocolate and oak with a boozy overtone. The overall flavor is slightly sweet with a bitter finish. The texture is creamy. I love this beer, its one hell of a stout. Delirium (498), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Updated: Jan 8, 2009Can. Pours jet black, with a very small, dark brown head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasty malt, with coffee, earthiness, and black cherries. Flavor is chocolate, espresso, oats, slight malt sweetness, black cherries, and a tannic note reminiscent of red wine, that increases in the finish. Very smooth on the whole, both in the velvety mouthfeel, and in the blending of all the big-but-not-rough flavors. Alcohol barely noticeable. Excellent oatmeal-stout-style imperial stout. truegen (164), Puyallup, Washington, USA

However, the foam that appeared was scarcely lighter than the beer! Chocolate/coffee dominates both nose and mouth. Very thick on the palate initially, but is not cloying at all. Probably a perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness. I would never have purchased this had it not come recommended by fellow beer drinkers I trust. hrking (108), Muncie, Indiana, USA

Aromas of...yes....whoppers, chocolate, a touch of cream, and cooked oats..Im getting excited. Mouth feel is full bodied with a semi dry finish. Flavors of toasted oatmeal, a nice hop bitterness, but a lingering alcohol finish. Might be a little too cold right now. As it warms, the whoppers really come through. Amazing. One of the most unique impy stouts Ive had in a while .... demitriustown (697), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 17, 2008 12 oz can via trade with nbutler11. Thanks! Aroma is big on roasted malt, chocolate cake, nutty, and an overall robust Imperial Stout scent. Appearance is pitch black with a really thick tan head that seems to linger around forever. Taste is malt, chcolate, coffee, nutty, roasty, and a bit of caramel. Palate is nicely carbonated on the tongue, sweet on the lips, and the aftertaste has a nice lingering coffee and malt overtone. Overall, Pretty darn good stuff coming from a can. Cheers! Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England
