Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Can. Pours inky black with a nice thick brown colored head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, caramel, coffee. Flavor is again chocolate, coffee, cocoa, caramel, whoppers candy. Palate is ultra full bodied, mild carbonation, finished bitter. This is one fantastic IS. This will be benchmark from now on!

Another outstanding selection from what is quickly becoming one of my favorite brewers. Low carbonation, pours a opaque black with a dark tan mild head. Nice nose of alcohol, with some roasted malts evident as well, but actually fairly mild. The taste is jam packed with rich chocolatey and coffee like flavors, with some nice spice undertones. Hides the alcohol, but has a nice warming effect. Toasted malts are also evident. Very complex, but well-balanced.

lucky enough to have it on tap at beachwood bbq in seal beach, california. being a big stout lover, i was anxious to give this one a whirl. a beautiful, thick almost black liquid with a slight caramelized head. aroma was wonderful with a lot going on. alcohol was present but not overwhelming (like avery’s mephistopholes). beautiful notes of coffee and chocolate. one of the best imperial stouts i’ve had....

Can courtesy of BMan1113VR.. Pours slowly like thick motor oil that forms a black body with a reddish dark brown head. Nose is like my old humidor. Cedar and tobacco with some booze. Some of my favorite scents. Even when you swirl the body makes a sticky brown residue that creeps down the glass. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy and seems to thicken up as it warms. Tastes like dark chocolate, java, and malted milk. Pretty dang good.

Bottle from Liquor max. An inky, thick pour, with a small, dark brown head. Completely black body. Alcohol legs, and some odd, spotty, complete lacing. Aroma is a bit weak, with alcohol, malt, light smoke and cedar and a bit roasty. Taste is malty, and roasty, a bit of rochefort, caramel and coffee. I find it a bit thin like all Oskar Blues beers. There is also a choclate milkshake/malt taste when it warms aswell, alcohol evident. Light carbonation.

Can. Nice brown head with good duration. Color is pitch black. Aroma and taste are rich with roast malt, coffee, chocolate and some hops.
