Served cold but still leaves an impressive milk chocolate brown head on top of the rich oil-like body. Aroma = Roasted. Slightly cola, even some ripe honeydew melon. Seriously, have a sniff. Full body... I mean FULL. Slick, thick, and creamy. Stout fans cometh. I’ve been waiting to try this brew for some time: The wait was worthwhile.

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 5, 2009 I’m always at war with big stouts and which ones are better than others. This one just got moved into the top 3 for stouts. It’s got a dark syrupy pour that has an aroma of chocolate, coffee, and subtle hints of oats(just as the description suggests) The 9.4%ABV is not overpowering at all, which makes it that much more enjoyable. cexshun (70), Portage, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Can’t rate the appearance because the can is not clear, duh. OK, pours opaque black with minimal head. Dark tan head that recedes quickly. Aroma is a strange marriage of chocolate and hops. Dark fruits present. Flavor very chocolaty. Strong, bitter finish from the hops. Kind of a strange hop dance in the middle. I doubt the 98 IBU claim. The hops blend much too well in this beer to be that high. Not as thick as moist RIS, but still considered heavy. Carbonation a little prickly. Overall, a great imp. I hate hops in my stout, but this is the only hoppy stout that strikes a great balance. drfabulous (1244), Columbia, Missouri, USA

Roma Strong smokey sweetness and black licorice. Burnt sugar. Flavor just like the aroma sweetness with lots of booze that tingles the tongue finishes with smokiness. Its like a taste of old strong cold coffee - just lingers and lingers. Why cant we get this beer in Ohio finol (504), Nacka (Stockholm), Sweden

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Thanks 17th floor! Pours a deep black with a small dark tan froth. Aroma is super rich chocolate, malted milk balls, dark cocoa, chocolate syrup, a whole lot of sweet sweet cocoa, oh and just a bit of coffee. Flavor starts with a rich deep chocolate malt, some soy biting in on the tongue. Remains sweet, malty and rich but never really builds upon it through the finish where it has a light hop push and fades with a bitter chocolate note. Medium to full body and a soft carbonation. Great aroma, okay flavor, could be a really good beer.
