Tap at Falling Rock during GABF. Tart aromas and flavors. Cherries and berries. Very acidic. Satisfying after craving something sour. Very yummy

On tap at Falling Rock. Slightly murky, cherry wood colored pour with a thin layer of off-white head. Rich nose of crisp red wine acidity, along with some cherry skin tannins. Fruity, dry, vinous, and a hint of oak. Medium bodied, mildly carbonated mouthfeel with a delicate sizzle. Crisp tartness up fron with some light acetic notes, although the vinegar qualities are well restrained. Not a lot of malt sweetness apparent, but it definitely has a bit of a chewy, dextrinous feel. Develops an intense, cherry skin tartness as it builds toward the finish, where it ends with a woody dry, pit-like flavor. Overall, a very tasty, fruity, well constructed example of a sour brown. I like the texture, especially how the acidity adds the impression of effervescence in place of the light carbonation. It also has a great balance between fruit, tartness, and acidity without being overly acetic, a problem I find when trying to really appreciate this style. I found it to get a little bit thin mid palate between the initial fruity tartness and oaky finish, but overall an excellent beer, and a pleasure to drink a pint.

On tap at OB. Deep brownish red in color with a off white head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Sour cherry aroma. Tart. Malty bready fruity flavor. Grapes and cherry woody notes. Sweet tasting. Finish is bitter. Very drinkable.

On draft at Falling Rock while I was at the GABF in Denver. Pretty decent flavors of sour cherries, wine, and grapes. I had a pint and that was too much. It was good though.

On draft at Falling Rock during GABF. I’m pretty sure I had this at the brewery and took notes but I can’t seem to find those, however I’m sure the notes taken at falling rock are giving this a higher rating than I gave it at the brewery. Amber-brown color with a light head. Tart cherries, and a generally pleasant sour aroma. Sour, tart, cherry, green apple, with dryish wood hints are what come to mind for the flavor. Dryish mouth feel, though slightly thin and watery. Very good over all and the best of the three sour beers we tried at falling rock.

Draft at Falling Rock Taphouse (goblet). Big muddy brown beer with a sour aroma and, sure enough, this is straight down the Flemish style. Quite sour and vinegary, tight and enduring. Drinkable if you like the style. (#3142, 10/13/2007)

Aroma is average malt (bread), light hops (herbs), light yeast (dough) with notes of cherry, wood and slight vinegar. Medium bodied, thin texture, soft carbonation and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

dark burgendy with a slight haze, frothy beige head, streaks of lace, tart aroma with a touch of light cherry and woody character, a touch of sweetness appears in the aroma after a while, rich tart malt flavor, I get a lot of wood, tartness starts off strong and becomes well tempered after warming, tart wood like sucking on a cherry pit
