dark burgendy with a slight haze, frothy beige head, streaks of lace, tart aroma with a touch of light cherry and woody character, a touch of sweetness appears in the aroma after a while, rich tart malt flavor, I get a lot of wood, tartness starts off strong and becomes well tempered after warming, tart wood like sucking on a cherry pit

Poured a deeper and cloudy brownish-red with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of cherries, oaky woodiness, and funky. Tastes of sour cherries, vinegar, wood, and earthy. I would lick my lips a minute later and they were still sour. CaptainCougar (5526), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Has an authentic fresh earthy oaky tart aroma with some subtle caramel maltiness and vinous dark cherry notes. Body starts with some lightly toasty malty sweetness, showing up more as it warms, with nice fruity complexity and lots of oaky woody notes. Could use a touch more malt for balance, but otherwise very authentic and enjoyable. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

Smells of vinegar, oak, some sugar, some cherries. Tastes of cherries and very tarte, but lacking in any complexity found in many other examples of the style. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Draught (growler). Head is small, fizzy, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy dark reddish-amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), with notes of cherry, wood, cranberry, red wine, cinnamon. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Very good stuff, and my favorite beer so far from Oskar Blues. Lots of aromatic character and delightfully tart. Difficult to stop drinking, owing to the great balance. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

Great tart aroma with notes of sour cherry and wood. Tart and fruity flavor with a semi-dry finish. I didn’t find it very complex but it was so tasty and drinkable not overly acidic.
