Typical aromas of banana and clove, a nice citrus zest on the palate, with some doughy cereal maltiness. Nothing wrong with anything about this beer, super smooth and easy to drink. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2008 Draught @ Oskar Blues. Cloudy yellow with a small head of foam. Nose is nice with the typical weiss notes of banana, clove and dough. Flavor is big on clove and spice, with lots of taste. Well balanced and it goes down easy, lol. It’s a nice ale. jcwattsrugger (5563), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 15, 2005 Cloudy and bright yellow with a fairly lasting bleached-white head. Crisp and refreshing, light-bodied texture. Nice flavors and aromas, with banana sweetness and clove aromas. A little bitterness/tartness in the finish. Light and easy to drink, yet it actually has some punchy flavors and aromas. I enjoyed it. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, bread), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana, lemon zest, and clove, hint of coriander.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Back when this was called Zephyr, it seemed like there was a splash of lemon juice in it, which made the flavor seem off for the style. Improvements have clearly been made, and this is now a delightfully aromatic and tasty hefeweizen (also with some very far off hints towards witbier as well, but those similarities seemed to fade quickly as the head died). Quite enjoyable.
