Flavor is unique for sure - some sourness and prunes mix in with the malt, and the finish is dry with nice bitterness. All in all, it’s a very unique take, but kind of all over the place. In other words, it was ’good’, but I’m not sure I’d order it again. esjaygee (1568), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma of caramel, nuts, cereal grains and toasted malt. Taste of roasted malt, nuts, mild citrus and mild fruit. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Thanks to Skyview. Dark copper color with a large head. Strong, rich malt aroma and a distinct spiciness. Smells like rye! Thick, chewy malt body. Dark fruit and more of the rye spiciness. Finishing slightly dry with an earthy hop. Nice! brewmaster55 (48), , Wisconsin, USA

This beer seems like it is trying to take you in multiple directions all at the same time. It is drinkable but certainly not their best brew. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 6, 2008 On draught at the brewery taproom in Plover,Wisconsin. Pours a clear brownish cooper brew with a creamy off-white head that quickly dissolves but leaves behind thin off-white head and some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted caramel malt, some citrus and flowery hops with a touch of apple character. Taste is quite different. Though a light to medium bodied and agood balance of carbonation this alternative Altbier has a light caramel and biscuit malt flavor with some bourbon/barley wine flavors and a nobel hop character. Finish is slightly sweet with a light barley wine finish and a mild bitter aftertaste. Not as dry as most other altbiers I’ve tried but it is quite the alternative Altbier.
