| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Bottle:   Pale caramel, slight orange hue, mildly hazy, moderate white foamy head, fairly sticky lacing.   Bright citrus peel, seems a bit candyish, also some heat.   Certainly on the resiny side, moreso orange rind with a sweet flair, followed up by some alcohol.   Comes across to me as more than an IPA but not as big as the IIPA I prefer.   Could stand to be a bit maltier, otherwise body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering rind and alcohol.   Hop aspect is there, but plays second fiddle to the rind like bitterness.   Good as it does have some nice sweetness, but without the malt to back it up its not as special.   This has all the components I like, but just needs to be a bit heavier.   Thanks Bob for the bottle!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Amber with a creamy tan topper that leaves some lacing. Aroma of tangerine, marzipan, caramel and medium hops. Taste of peach, marzipan, orange, mild alcohol and sweet malt. Perhaps a touch too cloying and finishes up sweet but a different and interesting mix nonetheless. CharlesDarwin (1874), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Did a hop cone really just plop out into my glass? Awesome. It shows in the aroma. Super creamy, fresh-hop-like pineapple sugar aroma. Pours a rather dark even red, with a good finger of lacy khaki soap. Flavor is rich, but somewhat lighter than expected. Peppery, a bit of sage and laurel, some leafiness. Alcohols are prominent, but meld well with the sugar and hop profile. A nice bristling sharp brown sugar flavor develops. Kinda like a barleywine/american strong ale/imperial IPA. A bit sweet and little light on the flavor depth and complexity. The character is unique and enjoyable. Thanks John! scrizzz (1345), kirkland, Washington, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Deep copper color, a bit cloudy/hazy, thick tan head. Hop and alcohol aroma jump out, citrusy hops. Up front hop flavor, not overpowering. Citrus, grassy, subtle malt sweetness. Medium-heavy body, bitter, no alcohol burn, not very bitter. Very nice! I expected an over the top DIPA, but this is somewhat balanced. The hop cone in the bottle is a cool touch. nuplastikk (1256), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 29, 2009 12oz bottle. Extra points from the start with the actual hop cone in the bottle! Murky amber-brown, with a decent head that fades into an oily top layer of off-white. The aroma is pretty easy going, not so intense at all, maybe some deep orange vanilla syrup hoppiness. The mouthfeel is pretty nice, with a thick, malty backbone laced with a thick, bitter hop bite. Some mild caramel and toffee tones, with lots of earthy orange pine sweetness. A very solid IIPA all around, worth seeking out. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 24, 2009 12oz bottle. Big, oily, resinous nose. Boatloads of greasy, bitter orange peel, fresh cut pine hoppy aroma. Lighter toasty caramel malt, but this is very fresh and very hop-forward. Pours murky caramel (hop cone and all!) with a sustained dark khaki head leaving spotty lace. This tastes fantastic! Incredibly fresh and vibrant hop profile. Some high-alpha acids for sure. Orange peel, cut grapefruit, pinecone, high-grade cannabis... Toasty toffee and caramel malt balance the hops, but never become overly sweet or cloying. Medium to full texture. Despite the massive amount of hops, the palate never becomes overly dry. The finish lasts forever with a blast of fresh, oily hop resins. This is what I look for in an IIPA. Quite a surprise and really fantastic stuff. Thanks a ton Bob!
