Commercial Description:
The second you open this bottle there is no mistaking that this is not your average IPA. Massive hop additions of the most obnoxious breeds put this taste bud burner in a league all it’s own. Our bet is that you will think it is O’so Freakishly good! Caution! This brew is 9% and may contain a hop cone in every bottle (2009 vintage) ! We want to make sure to repeat this reminder that we put a hop cone in the bottle. Always pour into a glass to release the essence from the bottle.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy copper color with a minimal frothy off-white head that mostly diminished with small lacing. Moderate to heavy tart citrus hop and green apple aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet hop flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

12oz bottle. Extra points from the start with the actual hop cone in the bottle! Murky amber-brown, with a decent head that fades into an oily top layer of off-white. The aroma is pretty easy going, not so intense at all, maybe some deep orange vanilla syrup hoppiness. The mouthfeel is pretty nice, with a thick, malty backbone laced with a thick, bitter hop bite. Some mild caramel and toffee tones, with lots of earthy orange pine sweetness. A very solid IIPA all around, worth seeking out.

12oz bottle. Big, oily, resinous nose. Boatloads of greasy, bitter orange peel, fresh cut pine hoppy aroma. Lighter toasty caramel malt, but this is very fresh and very hop-forward. Pours murky caramel (hop cone and all!) with a sustained dark khaki head leaving spotty lace. This tastes fantastic! Incredibly fresh and vibrant hop profile. Some high-alpha acids for sure. Orange peel, cut grapefruit, pinecone, high-grade cannabis... Toasty toffee and caramel malt balance the hops, but never become overly sweet or cloying. Medium to full texture. Despite the massive amount of hops, the palate never becomes overly dry. The finish lasts forever with a blast of fresh, oily hop resins. This is what I look for in an IIPA. Quite a surprise and really fantastic stuff. Thanks a ton Bob!

12 oz. bottle via trade with Ughsmash - That is totally fucking awesome! A hop cone in the beer bottle. First time I ever seen that. Now lets hope the beer taste good. Pours a hazy deep amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet floral and citrus hops. Wow! One of the most fruity, floral sweet smelling beers I’ve ever had. Flavor is floral hops, esters, and sweet toasted malt. Borderline cloying. No astringent aftertaste. Medium body. This beer is over the top. Just the way I like my 2IPA’s. Good stuff. Thanks Jason.

The description reminds me a lot of the old Laconner Bottleworks IPA, but I was not fortunate enough to have a hop cone in my bottle. Pours a clear deep orange amber with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh, juicy citrusy hops with a fair amount of sweet caramel and pale malts. Starts rich with lots of sticky hop resin and sweet toffee flavor with a juicy grapefruit hop balance before a very crisp, bittersweet finish with a touch of lingering grapefruit bitterness. Very well balanced, yet assertive and amazingly drinkable. A very good double IPA.

Um... what the hell??? 12oz bottle pours a murky glowing red with a nice frothy cream colored head and then PLOP! a whole hop cone just :::kruplunked::: into my glass... a bit scary at first until I sifted it out... yup a whole hop cone de-colored. Smells wonderful, very hoppy and fresh, as it should be considering I have a whole hop cone in it! Peachy and floral aroma with some sweet caramel underneath, smells quite creamy actually. First taste reveals that this beer isn’t super fresh, lots of bitter pine remains over some resinous sappy rich caramel, very toasty, love the bitterness very aggressive, very malty, robust. Medium bodied, on the fuller side, soft but sizzling carbonation. Quite nice and I got the added surprise!

10/29/2009: O’so Lupulin Maximus Imperial IPA... Aroma: Lots of aged citrus; toffee (soy) malt; slightly oxidized; smells like an American Barleywine. Appearance: Cloudy burnt orange color; speckled off-white crown. Flavor: Yum... The front has a lot of malt and sweet mead-like honey presence; earthy, overly-ripe citrus hops; moderate bitterness; dried apricot finish. Palate: Medium, smooth and pleasing mouthfeel. Overall: Well, this beer is good, but obviously not fresh... Still pretty good though.

1 pint, 6 fl. oz. bottle from Skyview. Thanks Bob! Rating #18 for this beer.

Clouded pour, very pleasant pine hop and toffee caramel blend in aroma, flavor is interesting , its starts out with a quick display of pine resiny hops and is then quickly overtaken by an almost overwhelming caramel maltiness. Caramel has a sweetness to it,much like caramel topping on icce cream, one of the most caramelly malty IPA’s I’ve ever had. Medium bitterness left in my mouth at end. Well done Wisconsin DIPA ,probaly considered excellent if you lean toward the malt side

Hazed copper color with a moderate sized beige bubbled head complete with a hop cone drift. Been awhile since I’ve had a dry hopped bottle. Huge citric and light pine aromas, along with plenty of carameland a hint of alcohol. Big flavors in many ways, not only from the hops and the malt but also a full power IIPA. Lots of caramel and bits of toffee. Nearly stay too sweet. Sweet grapefruit with a caramelized sugar coating. Hint \s of alcohol in the finish and into the linger. A bit warming. Some bits of smoke seem to work their way in. This around the fire pit on a cool fall evening, would be quite delightful.
