Fin (2005), Merton, Oxfordshire, England May 4, 2008 Cask at the Royal Oak Beer Festival, Oakley, Bucks/Oxon border 03-05-08 Hazy warm golden in colour with a white bubbly head. The burnt orange peel in the description is the first thing that I picked up, Loz on the other hand got the cloves immediately. I really liked this though I felt that the spices and particularly the cloves contrived to make this feel quite medicinal. This is really quite interesting, as wheat beers go its not very subtle the citrus is a bit full on at times but I found it very moreish and most enjoyable.

Hazy amber, tiny head. Slightly peachy aroma, some hops too, and a little funky, and a touch of spice. Huge peachy taste - spicy too - and with a decent malty body. Well balanced, hoppy and peachy finish. johninmelb (632), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 18, 2008 Very nice nose of zesty lemongrass and ginger. Pours cloudy with a persistant head and tons of lace. Flavour is a little unexpected - very, very dry an underpinned with some very bitter hops; mainly, though, it’s the citrus, herbs and spice coming through that dominate this beer. You need about three or four good swills to see where it’s coming from, but once you have it rewards the effort. Doppelganger (1080), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England May 17, 2008 Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. (Thanks Glen and the Banbury guys for the pint!) Pale gold, white head. Pungent apricot and ginger aroma. Spicy ginger and juniper berry flavor, dry ginger exhale. The most gin-like beer I’ve encountered. Interesting experiment, and rather good. imdownthepub (3937), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England May 17, 2008 Cask conditioned at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale gold, clear with white head. Lovely aroma of ginger and apricot leading to a spicy, dry beer, touches of tangy orange, citrusy, warming. Really well done in my opinion. renffisch (384), london, Greater London, England May 11, 2008 500ml bottle thanks to ethereal, even though i’m not so sure i’m that grateful :-) you guessed it, it wsn’t mine. Gorgeous smell of heavy clove, apples and a lot of spice but thats where the disaster starts. Taste offensive! Strange metallic mix of whey, coriander, earth and water... why?
