Aroma of big lightly citrusy English hops and toasty grainy malt. Body starts with a touch of sweet grainy caramel malt and some fresh grapefruity hoppy balance. Very drinkable and true to style, a decent beer, just not as assertive as a lot of other IPAs. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 22, 2006 Bomber. Beautiful orange pour. Big off white head. Resiny pine nose, lots of malt backbone. Flavor is sweetly malty, with a resiny backup. Bitter, resinous finish - a real pleasure. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 15, 2006 22 oz bottle. Pours a dark copper under a very small and quickly fading off-white head. Small lazy streams of carbonation rising. Aroma is full of grapefruit and citrusy hops with some caramel malt behind. Rather bitter hops with some grapefruit up front in the flavor with some toasted malt in the background and a little bit of oxidation. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Not sure why I didn’t enjoy this one, the hop profile was just a complete turn-off for me. I see the first rates of this were from early March, so it was about two and a half months old, so that’s not it. Just an overall very unpleasant beer to me. zach8270 (2102), Henrietta, New York, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 28, 2006 Bomber. Starts with a nice looking head but that doesnt last too long. Aroma is mostly sour caramel. Taste is toffee and more caramel with just the lightest of bitterness. "bold and hoppy"? I think not. Drinkable for a pale but not nearly hoppy enough. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
