Commercial Description:
A Winter's Ale is craft brewed in the tradition of a mild scotch ale. The rich flavor blends a pleasantly sweet caramel maltiness with mild hops. Refreshing yet warming, it is a perfect accompaniment to a brisk winter day. Available from November to February.

not carbonated enough to carry off its sweetness. it does have a nice malt, but the bit of hop seems to offset that a bit. very pretty, deep red pour.

Deep red/mohagony color topped by a medium thick head and lasting lace. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of spiciness and licorice. Sweet malty flavor with a slight spicy finish and a hint of hoppiness. medium to full bodied and slightly warming.

Ok woodsy smell: weird peppery brown sugar taste. Drank it in the dark but texture seemed like it would be cloudy. Would be great at BBQ or campfire. Need to add Pumpkin and Nutmeg and sell in the fall (and I would buy!!)

A ok beer from Otter Creek, that remindes me of a nice smooth ale. It has a medium brown color, with a ok smell that lacks a little bit of strength. Taste smooth with a hoppy and with a nice smooth hoppy flavor. But an ok beer for a holiday beer.

Chestnut colored. Decent soapy head and lace. Nose of peaty malt, caramel, light smoke and others. More light then medium in body, moderate carb bite. Deep, almost rich, sweet malt flavors, smoked caramel, slight hop bitterness. A pretty damn tasty scottish ale.

2002-Pretty deep amber color with a thin off-white head and a faint, roased grain nose. Not good at all until it warmed up. Most of the flavor was a white sugar sweetness with maybe some some thin caramel hints. Too much acid pucker for me.

On tap. Clean caramel color with a ringlet of an off white head. Somewhat soft and bready aromas with a sugary undertone. Quite warm and inviting without the tongue-numbing alcohol of other, stronger winter ales. Flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg with a mild peppery finish.

Nice spice nose with light hops, malty nut taste blending with spice aftertaste. Quite nice.
