12 oz. bottle, bottled 10/25/06. Amber Ale. A catchall style that might be something good, might be something bland. This one pours amber enough, all right, with just a few clumps of bubbles. Sweet malty smell, fair enough. Taste is pretty straightforward. Decent caramel malts, a sharp, mostly European hop spiciness. Everything in a nice balance, although the balance is tenuous: a bit cloying here, a little to bitter there. Wheat does soften it up just a little it. Nothing off about it. Loose bottle at Sam’s Wines, Downers Grove, IL

got this one on sale on the tale end of the winter season. i will definitely grab it again next year. pouts a red amber and has a nice aroma of hops. nice balance of flavors (hint of carmel malt in there), and medium body. if you like hop flavor but can’t take too much bitter give this one a try. i’m very please with the two otter creeks i’ve tried thus far.

12 oz bottle via Mystery Swap 2.0 (thanks Doclock!). This one pours a dark clear reddish brown with an average sized beige head. Nose is mostly vanilla, malty with some floral hops. Tastes like it smells with a bit of roasted grain flavor as well. This almost seems more like a hoppy brown porter. There is a mixed pine/grapefruit finish and a somewhat metallic aftertaste. Carbonation is medium and body is between thin and medium. Not bad...

Bottle. Poured a clear dark amber with a moderate frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate balanced sweet malt and spice aroma. Medium body. Medium sweet spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration.

Pours amber with minimal off-white head. Light sweet malt aroma with a little yeast. Light bodied flavor that matches aroma... nothing special here

Poured a clear amber, minimal head. Aroma is malty and sweet, a little bready. Flavor was pretty much the same, and I didnt like it very much. Very bland and watery. Just not liking it.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Head quickly subsides to skim rim. Sweet, creamy and malty - like an attempt at an HSA. -- but doesn’t quite live up.
