Staleish hop aroma (weedy goldings? what are these) Some wheaty and crystal sweet malt aromas. Medium bodied and moderately malty at first with some hoppiness, but quicky shifting to a watery metallic mess. This is rather bizzarre. Very pschizophrenic beer experience. roder60 (1023), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 7, 2005 pours a brownish goldish amber with minimal white lacy head. Aroma is hoppy and citrusy with undertones of berries and pine needles. Flavor is very rough, abrasive and bitter with very minimal actual flavor. Overall, smells much better than it tastes. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2005 Deep copper body with a rocky ecru head, this has a rich malt aroma, slightly nutty, and earthy hops - with a touch of the floral. The flavor is a light caramel malt with a Brazil nut bitterness to balance it out. The finish is abrupt, a slight smacking of hop bitterness, then it’s over. Decent enough.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 21, 2005 Sparkling copper, creamy khaki colored head. Caramel, light spice, and metallic nose, with a very light cherry, toasted nut and earth tone upon further warming. Flavor was the same, ok balance, but pretty boring overall. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, light spicy hop finish. This could be so much more...it’s not.....

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 16, 2005 Paid $1.20 for a 12-oz single bottle. Pours cloudy amber brown with no head. I mean none. Thin aroma of malt and dishsoap (no, there’s no residue from my glass, because my glass has not been washed with soap in quite a long time). Bland flavor. Nutbrown like with a strange bitter lingering finish that isn’t all that pleasant. Ehh, why a plain amber for a winter seasonal anyway? bourne (161), Suwon, South Korea

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 6, 2005 (Bottled on 10/25/05, Lot# 1804) A malty grainy nose lies beneath an off-white head that is thin and long lasting. The palate is slightly sweet and nutty with an earthy hop bitterness. As the beer warms an English like hop aroma becomes clear. This beer/style is very light for a typical winter beer; it reminds me of what would have been considered a heavy hitter 8 to 10 years ago. waveman352 (178), Walden, New York, USA
