| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2005 Poured reddish amber with a nice tan head. Very nice head retention. Smell had cranberry, brown sugar, berry and caramel. Caramel and courant are effective in the taste. A bit unbalanced at times but tasty. Solid brew but I have had better Amber Ales. Malty, with soy and some toffee. Color is a dark amber. Medium bodied. Slick mouthfeel. Some more malts and a slight earthy sourness. Not much roastyness. Finish is oily and slightly sour. Eh, ok I guess. r464 (287), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2005 A coppery color with a strong head. Very earthy with a punch of hops that is still very balanced. Not too exceptional, but I didn’t mind trying it and seeing what it had. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Red dirt look to it. Nice. Off-putting aroma. Hope it gets better. It does! But it’s strangely indescribable. A mix of fresh wildernessy flavors. Maybe clover, maybe flowers, maybe running naked through the forest and letting the spirit of the nymphs take you over... wait, no, I’m going too far on that one. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 22, 2005 11/24/04 bottle consumed 6/16/2005. Ruby and orange, slight copper and rust tones. Off-white head recedes to ring, little to no lacing, mostly clear. Smells of fruity hops, cherries, apples, oranges. Definite alcohol as well, which is rather unwelcome. Minty hops notes and cherry fruit notes go side-by-side with the alcohol. Flavor is cherries, oranges, caramel malt, orange hard candies and alcohol. Some spearmint, perhaps. Good malt sweetness, lightly sugary. Mouthfeel is easygoing and the carbonation does not make itself known (not that it’s flat, it just stays out of the way). Lightly bitter and just way too much alcohol apparency. Retronasal is cherries, strawberries, plums. Good caramel malt on end, very fresh and well-extracted. Caramelly, sugary, chewy mouthfeel. Medium body. If it just wasn’t for the alcohol. . . .perhaps a bit too sweet overall, too.
