pours a very translucent copper orange color. Thin bubbly white head. Mildly biscuity nose with some yeasty esters as well. Nose also reminds me of wet stone. Some spice and sweetness, with a bit of hop balance. Nothing special here, but drinkable.

Very dark copper, with a thick white head. Intense malt aroma. Heavy malt flavor in the front......smooth mouthfeel. Very balanced finish, with a lingering bitterness.

Heh, not an alt bier. I’ve had a few (granted not rated yet), but this doesn’t, at least, excite per taste. Out of the four Otter Creek beers I’ve had so far, it was the least exciting and most bland. A bit of malt, a little creaminess on the tongue, but nothing distinguishing for actual taste. No hop character, and very little wheat. (Bottle Pour 1/27/2008)

An altbier, eh? I’m not tasting it much. Just another bland amber to me. In fairness, it’s easy drinking and balances hops and malts fairly well. But it fairly quickly strikes an icky balance between watery and cardboardy.

Somewhat carmelly, but has a really sharp bite at the end that tasted like a penny. My dad loves this stuff, but it’s just too bitter for me. I can tell it’s a quality brew, but it’s just not my thing.

BOTM Club, Nice color, pours with a long lasting thin white head that sticks to the sides. I can see where johnnysmoke gets the peanut smell. A bit watery for my taste but a nice, different beer.

Pretty average. A nice throw back to the old style beers my dad drank. Not a lot of character to make it stand out though.

Tea colored body with a small sticky foam that sticks to the glass. Aroma is of moderate strength at best and offers a nice balance of malt and hop. It is mostly sweet caramel, though. What you get in the aroma is pretty much what you get in the flavor. A little more hop shows up in the taste and bitterness is present. Interesting and enjoyable but not a great beer.
