Recieved this from my RB Secret Santa. Otter Creek’s Copper Ale pours, well what else, a hazy but polished copper. The whole glass is teaming with moderate sized carbonation bubbles rising to the one finger white head that formed on the pour. Leaves patchy lacing.
There’s a solid husked graininess upfront that falls to the background but never completely fades. Toffee and caramel come in and round things out nicely. Has a bit of an earthy aroma coming up from the depths.
Flavor is much the same as the smell and to keep from boring you I won’t repeat myself. What was undetectable in the smell is the hop presence and although there’s no discernable hop flavor there is certainly a balancing bitterness that keeps this beer perfectly balanced.
Medium bodied with a massaging carbonation. By the looks of things I thought the carbonation would be more aggressive, (and was a little worried) I’m glad it’s more restrained.
This is without a doubt a sessionable beer. Smooth and balanced keep this Alt flowing easy.
I don’t visit Alts often enough and this is a pretty good example. When I head to the store it seems like there’s just too many seasonals and special releases to keep up with, that it keeps me from what I should be drinking, more sessionable brews.

Flavor was lacking, started off almost malty, finished a little on the bitter side. Very light. Nice ice cold on a hot summer day. thegreenrooster (1841), St.louis, Missouri, USA

Aroma is non-existant with a very slight and i mean slight burnt malt. Flavor is a tad better with some more burnt malts and a sticky toffee. Not real good. carboloader (320), Houston, Texas, USA
