Pours a dark deep sparkly copper with a moderately small head. Soft caramel malt aroma, hints of grass hops but not much else there. The flavor likewise leans toward the malt, a whisper of orchard fruit, slight metallic bitterness on the finish. S
All in all, this one was without serious flaw other than the fact that it was pretty boring. swoopjones (1923), Buffalo, New York, USA

Have had much better ilikebier (1), USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Oct 20, 2006 This is one of my favorite beers to drink. Stumbled upon it one day in Vermont. Now, when in Vermont and when we are near Middlebury, we go and stop by the brewery. This brewery is also owned by Wolavers, but they still keep the beers separate (for now.)
One wish is that they would promote more in New Jersey and keep the beer fresh on tap and in bottles on the shelf (rotate your stock lease.)
We go out of our way for this beer. It was the first beer I had after 6+ months over in the sandbox and was happy to have it. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2006 Bottle. Clear copper with a frothy, moderately lasting white head, leaving spotty lacing. Aroma of cereal/biscuit malts with a bit of raw sugar and a faint scent of citrus hops. Flavor of caramel malt and canned corn with a fair amount of hop bitterness throughout. Kind of thin, overcarbonated, and just plain unbalanced overall.

Light grainy caramel aroma, muted hops. Phenolic/scorched grain hint? Similar flavour, sweet with light astringency. Average palate. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2006 Tan, color of a pale ale. Not the flavor of a pale ale, bitter but malty as appropriate. Aroma is malty and vinous, with a hint of raisin and plumbs. Smooth finish, lager-like qualities. This one is about 9 months old but still quite good. It doesn’t look like an alt but it tastes like a good one. boredatwerk (21), Chester, New Jersey, USA
