Style; glass: Alt Kolsch; tumbler 12 fl oz x 5.4% ABV = 64.8 / 60 = 1.08 beers * 150 C = 162 calories (est.) Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $1.20 Aroma: Hay, corn, faint. Visuals: typical packaging, beautiful, bright copper body, brilliant, staying white head, sticky lace. Taste: Some depth, spicy, hoppy, malty. Caramel, roasted malts, some coffee. Tasty! Palate: start is spongey, middle is drying, and finish is acetic, bitter, and enjoyable. Overall: perhaps the best of the sampler. It was sold to me by the beer manager at Canal’s who suggested that this was their flagship. I think they should focus on this malty, slightly bitter, delicious session brew.

Bottled. Clear amber/brownish in color. Malty aroma. Some chocolate and a hint of sour. Some malts and chocolate in the flavor. Fairly dry and straightforward. Some nut brown flavors. Decent.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep clear copper with a small foamy head. Smell is earthy hoppiness with a slightly sweet maltiness hiding in the background. Taste is hoppiness balanced with a nutty toasted malt. Medium bodied and lightly carbonated.

Clear copper pour with thick off white head, and a small amount of lace. Sour, metal, and citrus on the nose; very strange. Watery mouth-feel. Piney floral hops, and sweet malts

Bottled. Poured slightly hazy medium orange with a short cap of off-white head and some rising carbonation. The aroma picked up some sour character that seemed out of place.. some citrus and some caramel, but it was mostly sour. The flavor was also sour, and when paired with some pine and herbal bitterness it got downright ugly.. sticky caramel backing to it.. finished sharp and unpleasant. Light-medium bodied and sour on the palate.. didn’t flow well.

Bottle: Poured a copper color with not too much head. The aroma was sweet roasted malts and citrus. The flavor was bitter with sweet malts. Overall, a surprise beer, with good taste too.

clear copper with few bubbles under a small, quickly diminishing, white head. malty, peanut buttery aroma. flavor and palate lack with just mild malty notes and a watery texture. just not very interesting.
