| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2007 Pours a transparent bright orange bronze with a thin, wispy white head. Has a toasty, earthy grainy German malty aroma with a touch of light sweetness. Body starts semi-sweet and slightly tart with a thinner, foamy palate. Finishes drier and earthy with some grassy notes hiding the alcohol fairly well. A little too dry and unbalanced for the style. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 8, 2007 Pours copper with a white frothy head and good lacing. Smells of oranges, some sugar, pepper, sweet malt. Tastes of pepper, some tea, some metallic hints. Mouthfeel is dry with some tea and bitter hints on the finish. I’ve been impressed by the world tour series so far. JoeMcPhee (5025), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2007 22 oz bomber. Deep golden pour. Rich sweet pale malt that is lightly cerealish but also nicely clean. A bit of earthy/noble hop aroma but mostly keeping itself in the back. Chewy yeasty/bready malt character. I really enjoy the malts in this brew. Flavour shows fresh bready yeasty character and soft doughy malts. Just enough hoppiness to keep the sweetness in check. A touch of floral hop flavour. Lingering yeastiness. An excellent interpretation of this style. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 9, 2007 Clear medium-gold appearance. Sweaty grain nose, cereal and biscuit and sour butter scents, some mold as well. Not good. Tastes just as bad, it’s a mess of soggy grain, cardboard and sour oats. Didn’t dig this one like I did the sahti and weizen bock. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2007 Bottle from Capone’s. Hazy dark straw pour with minimal off-white head and not much retention. Aroma is pale malt, corn, spicy yeast, some fruit. Tastes pale malty, with some fruity apricotty notes, plus mild hops. I like a fruitier maibock, but this one isn’t bad.
