Commercial Description:
Otter Creek Brewing has brewed up a little something new just for spring. Releasing late January, the new ESB will be out just in time for the onset of cabin fever. Otter Creek's Extra Special Bitter has heady hop aromas and a rich maltiness to provide balance and full delicious flavor. A perfectly refreshing amber ale. Look for green 6 pks and 12 pks. Also available on draft.

Clear, golden brown. Some lacing, but not much head. Aromas of crystal malt and some perfume of hops. A medium hop bite, malty, then bittering on the finish. Light bodied and clean. A little soapy. No complaints for an easy-drinking ESB, but lacks the depth and complexity of the powerhouses in this category.

Draught. Copper color with an off-white frothy head. Caramel and citrus hop aroma not much different from an APA. Standard and familiar caramel malt-citrusy hop flavors, with maybe a touch of toasted dark bread in the background. Medium-full bodied with substantial carbonation. OK, but nothing to seek out.

Robe cuivrée très claire surmontée d’une mousse blanche qui s’estompe. Arômes légers de CO2. Saveurs de houblon aromatique et de céréales.

Another mediocre microbrew with obvious pelletized hop flavor. Kinda thin, and no real balance or finishing character. Does have a nice head, though.

Poured an amber color and the smell told of hops, lots of hops. Picked this up in Montgomery, VT, where the store is getting to be very interesting in terms of its beer offering.

Amber with a thick and short lasting tan head. Some lace but not a lot. Smells like grain, currant, caramel. Flavory is a little watery but I did the currant and caramel. Certainly an above average beer.

Bottle drank at the Brickskeller during RBSG 06 DC Weekend Copper color, light head, lots of lacing. Nose of light sweet dusty hops, light caramel. The flavor is toasty, medium bodied and caramelly. Decent finish. I can dig it.
