There was a large white head on it, that disappeared quickly and left no lacing. the aroma is slightly bready and malty, with some very faint spice. It has a nice flavor to it. No real standouts, and medium bodied. some spices and fruit hiding in the background. Pretty smooth and drinkable. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2007 Big malt, boozy-bock aroma. Dark gold, fair bomber bottle, oozing effervescence, thin beady white head. Tangy, malty, with an herbal and slightly metallic tinge. Metallic on the lips. Not very hoppy, what bitterness is present is herbal and alcoholic. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, slight cereal and medicinal finish. Interesting. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2007 22 oz bomber gifted to me by Jon (Willblake) via Paul (Dickinsonbeer), big thanks to both great guys. Poured into a small tulip glass. Color is amber, clear beer but just dark enough to make a medium clarity, small head. Aroma is strong and I want to compare it to Heavyweight Jåkeldrickå, very similar but a bit more commercial. Aromas of sour slightly aged maltiness (soured light cardboard), a lightly acidic berry (maybe juniper?), a bit sweet and sour and very original. Taste is similar where the sweet maltiness really offsets the other unordinary aspects of the beer. Body is full yet light, one downside is the mouthfeel is a bit weird, makes my cheeks dry and weird. Finishes light and actually very drinkable. beerguy101 (3971), Newark, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2007 This ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is interesting, rye, juniper, a touch tart, kind of earthy and a little floral. A medium bodied ale. Malts are caramel and fruity, touch of biscuit. Lots of rye flavors and the juniper is very evident. Hops are earthy and floral. Lively carbonation. The juniper flavors make this beer a little sahti-like the fruitiness is quite similar. Surprisingly full in the mouth. It’s a lighter flavored, lower alcohol beer but still a sipper. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. illinismitty (1801), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2007 Bomber brought by Jasonmech77, sampled at Hopdog’s basement bar with Hopdog, Jasonmech77, and TomDecapolis. Pours a pale orange with some haze and very small head. Aroma is a bit strange, I pick up peanut shells, rye, and a hint of gin. Initial flavor of juniper and licorice, with dry malty and rye middle. Moderate spicy hop finish to balance it out. One of the better offerings from Otter Creek, and I have not had a Sahti in a long time, which made this more enjoyable.
