Poured a dark gold color with small head. Aroma was of mint and juniper. Flavor was of mint pin and the juniper was a lot not a huge fan of this very spiced.

Little head, light pale, clear. Has a kind of lemon and cinamon scent. A touch sour, herbal, vegtable notes. Leaves a lemon/lime aftertaste. Not bad, not great. A "one time" beer for sure.

interesting smell half malty beer half gin. it is malty and just a bit bitter. the aftertaste is juniper and caramel. very crisp not terrible. ive had a real sahti but ive had some beers with juniper and i just dont see the point. but then again i wasnt expecting much from ottercreek with the last world tour beer abomination. points for trying but all in all this beer misses the mark. but i cant honestly say i disliek this beer.

Ok, I only have limited sahti drinking experience (Lammin Kataja Olut IVB), and this was too spiced in comparison. But as a spiced beer, it was bearable. Aroma was lots of peppermint. Appearance was amber colored with a nice initial head, minor lacing. The flavor was mints, juniper, pine needles, some light caramel underneath, even a little ginger. Mouthfeel was moderate for the style. I wouldn’t want to try this again, but within the not-so-favorite spiced category, not too bad.

Enjoyed a sample of this one on draught at the brewery in Middlebury, VT. Interesting beer based on a Finnish sahti, brewed with rye and juniper. Pours to a deep golden color, with a creamy, white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent with spicy/medicinal aromas of rye and juniper. The palate delivers more of the same with good pale malt flavor paired with spicy rye flavor. This beer finishes with more good pale malt and spicy rye malt up front, then ends with some flavors of juniper berry and black pepper that lingers. Interesting, flavorful beer, which really has unique aromas and flavors due to the use of rye and juniper. Not the type of beer you could drink a lot of, but one well worth trying.

Dark gold, thin fizzy white head. Nose held light notes of nutty earth, rye, gin, and grains. Flavor was mostly balanced with notes of the above, hints of juniper, with a faint bitter tone late. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry, softly bittersweet finish. Very bland with not a whole lot to it...

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours amber\golden with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, spices, and fruit. The flavor is sweet, caramel, fruit, and spices. Good body, good brew.

(22oz bottle) Clear amber body with medium white body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some rye, juniper. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some juniper. Light-medium body, light stickiness. Nicely done.
