| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 29, 2009 22oz bottle. Bright metallic orange with only a thin layer of white head. Aroma is very bright resiny hops. Flavors are bright acidic and bitter hops. Really not bad. A touch too much alcoholic. emacgee (1872), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Aroma: Pine, floral, citrus, bit of caramel, grapefruit
Appearance: Slightly hazy orange color, creamy off-white head
Flavor: Nice hoppiness, some juicy sweetness, bit of caramel malts too, hoppy/bitter but balanced too
Palate: Smooth and easy drinking, medium-fully body, really nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
I’m pretty impressed by this beer. Nicely done by Otter Creek, a really good IIPA for sure, and not too shabby at 11% and 135 IBU. I hadn’t seen or heard anything about this beer before, but they should add this to their regular line-up if they haven’t already.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2009 Tap at CAH. Pours a translucent golden amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of pine, mixed citrus, floral notes and caramel malt. Flavor of grapefruit, pine, caramel and a good bit of bitterness. VTHopHead (915), Barre, Vermont, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Bomber - Pours a darkish orange amber in color with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin covering over the beer. Aroma is quite hoppy... citrus/grapefruit and pine mostly. Flavor begins slightly sweet and then the hops kick in... big time! I was surprised at the maltiness... with 135 IBUs, one would expect all hops. Maltiness adds other flavors... caramel, apricot/peach, orange. Alcohol is well hidden, but certainly apparent in its affects at 11%. Finish is very bitter and lingering. This was really a good IIPA and well worth repeating!! zebracakes (1215), Washington DC, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 22, 2009 After having Dauphiné La Mandrin aux Noix literally throw itself on me, I’m looking forward to something delicious and crisp. I hope this beer works out. Here we go. Bomber, pours hazy golden orange, thick off white head. Aroma is sweet: malt and peat (oh no!!!). Flavor is hoppy, bitter and fuzzy, very sweet and syrupy. Ok, so the peat is not super present in the flavor, but this beer is very syrupy and alcoholic. It has a very very bitter walnut/grapefruit character that is rather unpleasant and almost painful. Maybe it’s reacting to the Dauphiné La Mandrin aux Noix that’s still in my system. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours a orange/amber color with a off-white head. Hoppy citrus & floral aroma with grapefruit, pine, and light caramel. Flavor was pine, orange/grapefruit, citrus and had a nice malt backbone with a medium body and finishes strong and bitter.
