Commercial Description:
The Otter Creek flows through our hometown of Middlebury. Elderberries grow wild on its banks, providing the inspiration to flavor this refreshing Summer ale with hints of elderberries and blueberries. Enjoy!

(bottled 4/13/04) Clear golden body with bubbles rising ala champagne, with medium white head. Aroma is sweet blueberry and what I presume is elderberry. Taste is moderately sweet, again what I presume is elderberry, some blueberry, with a lingering dry/astringent fruitiness. Light, watery body. Ok for what it is.

Poured a light and clear (see through) golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of fresh baked blueberry muffins. Tastes of lighter blueberries and some malt. Thinner body with lively carbonation.

Sparkling clear, straw-colored ale. The nose is refreshing and releases huge notes of blueberries and subtle notes of hops. Well-balanced flavor. Fruity, citrusy, moderately bitter and a bit thin. Light-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, fruity, clean finish. Great beer for Summertime "porch sittin'".

Pours copper/amber with a thin white head. Smells of berries. Tastes of berries with some caramel hints on the finish.

Light straw color with a tall disipating ultra white head. Fruit perfume odor that I have a hard time getting past and really do not wish to smell and analyze any further. Selter water feel. Elderberry tartness, along with a blueberry finish and a tart elderberry linger. No malt character.

Pours gold. Aroma of malt, hops, blueberries, elderberries. Tastes of the above berries, with malt and some hops at the finish. Refreshing, with a natural berry flavor.

Lightly hazed blonde with a white head. Barely any aroma. Nice crisp malt with faint blueberry notes. Medium bodied. Boring. Mondiale 2005.

Light apple juice, almost no head, clear. Big fruity nose lacks complexity or much besides berries, but is pleasant enough. Not a heckuva lot of fruit in the taste, rather wheat-beer like and citrusy, a bit bitter/sour towards the finish, didn't seem like a lot of body to me which makes the astringent smokiness near the end not terribly pleasant. Another mediocre beer from this mediocre brewery, sadly.
