Commercial Description:
Mud Bock Spring Ale makes its appearance with the spring thaw. The main feature of this full bodied beer is a broad and deep malt flavor. While sweeter than our other beers, a wine-like character provides balance in the flavor profile. Has fruity, herbal and floral notes in the aroma. Available February to May

22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a deep caramel copper color with a small off white head. The aroma was semi sweet with fruit, some roast, caramel malt, and floral notes. The flavor opened with a sourness that was quite unexpected. Nothing from the nose really made it to the taste. It was thin and not something I would care to revisit.

3/18/2009: Otter Creek Mud Bock has a roasted, coffee-ish aroma and a really weak, barely roasted flavor. It seems slightly sour, possibly burnt. This beer feels watery and the palate as it is definitely lacking body. The aroma isn’t bad, but the beer is barely tolerable overall.

1 pint 6 fl. oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Thanks! Rating #84 for this beer.

$5.00 bomber enjoyed outside on a beautiful spring evening. I must admit this bottle did not live up to what I was expecting, solid bock just nothing robust and overly enjoyable within it. Juicy plum aroma with a scent of ice tea and molasses. Mottled brown body with a lasting foamy head and streaky lacing. Basic/neutral mouth feel that provided a rather thin finish. Flavor contained a tangy sweetness, very malt forward with some green hops and faint coffee notes.

Poured a reddish brown with a tan head. Malty aroma along with some floral scents and roasted nuts. Tasted nice and malty with a good nutty follow up. Nice tasting brew.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of wood, smoke, malts, metal, slight chocolate, light nuts, and light caramel. Poured deep amber/brown/FLYERS orange in color with a small, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, nuts, slight roasted malt, and some mud. Medium body. Slightly slick texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, chocolate and malt finish.

Bottle. Pours a cola like color with a big rootbeer like head. Aromas are earthy with considerable dark fruit in the background. Flavor is kind of like a cherry cola with a little bit of a sour edge to it. Not quite right, but not horrendously wrong, either.

Very easy to drink. On tap in Ohio, great head. A bit of a malt flavor, I am sorry it’s only seasonal.

I had this in a bomber and On tap at the Vintage Estates in Ohio, very nice place! Nice looking sparkly dark beer appearance. Good soda like aroma, attractive to the olfactory. Excellent carbonation and feel on the palate. A little roasty on the buds and comes across very like-able. At the tap it was listed as 8% but on this site it is 6%. Either way, hides the alky characters well. A fine finish. Overall, pleasantly surprized.
