Commercial Description:
Mud Bock Spring Ale makes its appearance with the spring thaw. The main feature of this full bodied beer is a broad and deep malt flavor. While sweeter than our other beers, a wine-like character provides balance in the flavor profile. Has fruity, herbal and floral notes in the aroma. Available February to May

Brown with ruby highlights, thin tan head, malty aroma with a touch of sweet chocolate malt, light malty flavor with traces of chocolate and roasted malts, just the right amount of sweetness, clean finish with only a hint of bitterness. What do you get when you add chocolate to an otherwise fine bock? - a mud bock!

bottle, stronger flavors then i was expecting. This appears to be a very solid beer. Hops and little flowery flavors. A very full mouth feel to it.

Draft. Pours brownish with aroma of malt, hops, some dark fruit, slight chocoff. Tastes fruity, with finishing malt, hops, and some candi sugar notes. Complex and flavorful.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Charlotte. Deep brown coloring with a small off-white head. Some coffee notes and a very dominant malt character. Has a sweet, mildly sour finish, almost like a wine or a lambic. Pretty good.

Perfect, clear reddish color, and a fine, if short head. Aroma is deep and delicious, fruity and malty. On the old palate, lushly malty, with a welcome blitz of hops. Very tasty, very satisfactory...a top-notch bock. Thanks to paceyourself for the sample. Yum, yum...I like it, I like it!

Surprisingly good. Nice mahogany color under a tidy tan head. Nose held hints of coffee, hazelnuts, malty caramel. Low carbonation, smooth feel. Flavor was sweetened roasted hazelnut coffee. Quite good.

Deep chestnut color, ruby when held to a light, beige head, thin lacing. Caramelly and roasty, maybe even a bit smoky. Light hops finish it out. Earthy. Medium bodied, very drinkable, quite smooth. I’d drink again.
