Brown with ruby highlights, thin tan head, malty aroma with a touch of sweet chocolate malt, light malty flavor with traces of chocolate and roasted malts, just the right amount of sweetness, clean finish with only a hint of bitterness. What do you get when you add chocolate to an otherwise fine bock? - a mud bock!

Aroma is deep and delicious, fruity and malty. On the old palate, lushly malty, with a welcome blitz of hops. Very tasty, very satisfactory...a top-notch bock. Thanks to paceyourself for the sample. Yum, yum...I like it, I like it! YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2004 Surprisingly good. Nice mahogany color under a tidy tan head. Nose held hints of coffee, hazelnuts, malty caramel. Low carbonation, smooth feel. Flavor was sweetened roasted hazelnut coffee. Quite good. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2004 Deep chestnut color, ruby when held to a light, beige head, thin lacing. Caramelly and roasty, maybe even a bit smoky. Light hops finish it out. Earthy. Medium bodied, very drinkable, quite smooth. I’d drink again.
