Commercial Description:
Mud Bock Spring Ale makes its appearance with the spring thaw. The main feature of this full bodied beer is a broad and deep malt flavor. While sweeter than our other beers, a wine-like character provides balance in the flavor profile. Has fruity, herbal and floral notes in the aroma. Available February to May

Hoppy aroma - would be nice but I wasn’t expecting it. Rich malt, a bit of chocolate with a nice malt/hop finish. Improves as it warms to show more.. uh.. bockiness.

Mahogney color with a small brown head. Aroma is matly with notes of caramel, smoked pete and cocoa. Malty with some herbal hoppy bitterness. Light notes of toffe and molasses. Slight hop spice in finish. Not too shabby.

Sample on draught at Barley’s Smokehouse. Pours a dark reddish brown with a dense and thin off-white head. Malty and fruity aroma. Thin-bodied and fairly sweet with malt, molasses and caramel. The finish consists mostly of sweet fruit, along with light bitterness. Rather uninteresting for the most part.

Good malty smoked pete aroma, notes of coffee as well. Color is a nice brown reddish with a thin bit of head. Flavor is a nice robust earthy caramel. Palate is a good crispness. A damn fine beer, worth a second enjoyable experience.

Roasty cereal aroma. Clear brown body with tan head. Good maltiness - a touch roasty toward the end with a lasting sweet finish. Body a bit light. Thin but very drinkable. Bottle (thanks Muzzlehatch).

Pours a very dark ruby with a minimal head. Aroma is malty with hints of coffee and caramel, much like the flavor. Some nice hops in the finish. Slightly thin and weak, though. Still, just about the best Otter Creek has to offer, possibly with the exception of their Stovepipe Porter.
