Commercial Description:
Mud Bock Spring Ale makes its appearance with the spring thaw. The main feature of this full bodied beer is a broad and deep malt flavor. While sweeter than our other beers, a wine-like character provides balance in the flavor profile. Has fruity, herbal and floral notes in the aroma. Available February to May

Pours a clear light brown with no head. Aroma is earthy, with a touch of chocolate, bread, and caramel. Thin mouthfeel. Malty and slightly sweet. Weak coffee. Not a bad beer.

Dark purple-rubyish in colour with a thin ring of white head around the rim of the glass. The nose is strong with malts, some alcohol, and caramel. The taste is full of rich malts and some caramel in the finish. Tastes and reminds me of candy. The mouth is slippery and somewhat thin. Overall, not all that bad.

(Bottle) Pours a thin, white, quick-dissipating head with a dark reddish-brown body. Little carbonation. Nice caramel malt. Thin, oily texture is fizzes across the palate. Good.

Very small off-white head. Brown-red body. Aroma is sweet caramel with nutty overtones. Dry malty flavor initially that is slightly bitter at the finish. What the hell kind of bock is this? It seems like a doppelbock light. It really seems more like a nut brown to me. Doesn't have that strong caramel taste or the souped up alcohol that I expect in a bock. Enjoyable, but mislabled.

I had quite a different idea about this beer when I bought it... I thought it'd be thick and dark (mud). Instead I got a medium brown beer that has the aroma and flavor of being roasted. This is a decent beer, but I probably wouldn't buy it again soon.

Draught at Sunset Bar and Grill, Boston, MA.</br> Crystal clear, amber coloured body with a thin head. Clean tasting with an inference of alcohol in the head but not on the palate (I think but I was plenty smashed at this point). The Patriots smashed the Bills in a revenge victory 31-0, which capped a great day drinking.

sweet light choco/light coffee aroma. tastes sweet, thin and watery, but flavorful. malty, a sprinkle of hops. very light choco, light coffee... nothing special - not bad, but not great. egh, it's good. not a drain, but nothing to rave about. i agree w/igneous1 about the tootsie roll, but disagree about the huge roastiness he boasted. it's an ok beer though.

The dark red/burgundy body is topped by a thin fizzy soda like head with little lacing left behind. The aroma is malty with a slight caramel sweetness and subtle roasty and fruity notes. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with slight caramel notes and an underlying bitterness. Medium bodied and smooth.
