Brown with ruby highlights, thin tan head, malty aroma with a touch of sweet chocolate malt, light malty flavor with traces of chocolate and roasted malts, just the right amount of sweetness, clean finish with only a hint of bitterness. What do you get when you add chocolate to an otherwise fine bock? - a mud bock!

Poured clear deep brown with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate complex toasted sweet malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate balanced malty sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
Good drinkable brew, but average for style. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Nice looking brew-dark brown but transparent, with a decent head. Aroma malty-sweet but thin. Nice flavor -- caramel/coffee/nutty, and a decent body, though it could be thicker. Finishes a little bitter for a bock; I'd say this feels like a cross between a bock and robust porter. Probably OC's best brew.
April 2004. I get a bit of cedar and orange; lighter than I remember, but overall just as good.
