Pours a clear dark gold body with a small fizzy light beige head, minimal lacing. The nose is husky toasted grains with a touch of sweet Munich malt. Minimal to no hops. There’s minimal to no sweetness to the flavor, just lots of dry toasted cereal grains with a very light bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied and dry with moderate fizzy prickly carbonation. Overall, a less than average O-fest. MrBunn (1544), Western, Pennsylvania, USA

Aromas are pleasant and a stong point: fall-like spices, sweet, caramel malts and fallen leaves. Flavor is very similar... body is malty with an almost peppery bit to the hops that gives the beer a little zest that is all its own. A little bit thin for an Oktoberfest, but pleasant nonetheless. Much thanks to goldtwins for this one. badbeer (433), Iowa, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Clear amber color with an off-white head, decent retention. Strange aroma; I got smells of burnt leaves, paper bags, and a strange caramel aroma. Some decent malt taste in this, but there’s also some metallic flavors that come through, almost a slightly burnt or roasted finish and slightly vegetal. Medium carbonation and body, but a bit thin in the finish. I was hoping to like this one more, but I just didn’t care for it. Thanks to goldtwins for the sample. zathrus13 (1310), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

Aroma smelled like wet burnt leaves...hey, at least it resembled autumn! Flavor was better...nice blend of toast, caramel and nuts with a little earthiness to it...an above average oktoberfest. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Pours a clear amber with a small creme head that falls fast. Definite leafy nose. Flavor profile gives the same. Nice earthy and leafy character with a slightly sweet and citrus edge on it. Nice and hearty and a good body too. Good stuff really. Feel has a decent bubble to it and the liquid is kind of sticky and thick. A good beer. A nice fall seasonal to try. beerbill (1972), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle. I was rummaging through my beer fridge looking for something to drink and found this guy hiding in the back. Pours a hazy copper with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the entire glass and left partial lacing. Light but pleasant aroma of malt with just a hint of citrus detected as well. The flavor seemed a bit tired with some washed out malt with a bit of sweetness and some light drying hops bitterness at the finish. A middle-of-the-road octoberfest beer. bitbucket (2035), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Bottle, courtesy goldtwins. Pours clear bright copper with a thick, fluffy, lacy white head. Lightly sweet aroma of toffee, fruit and some noble hops - pretty much as expected. Lightish body and carbonation. Initial sweetness, toast and fruit that give way to a bit of crisp pine. Gets a little watery at the end. A tiny trace of metal in the finish, and on the upper end of the hops for the style, but it seems a bit under-rated.
