The appearance is copper gold with an average head. The flavor is very malty with an odd grassy bitterness and finishes nutty and yeasty. The palate is average. Overall this is interesting but not great. BigMilly8 (376), Holiday, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 2, 2007 From bottle : Pours a medium amber gold color with a thin fizzy white head that is quickly diminished to a little ring. Malts, grains, little tiny bit of hops and spices are the smells. Medium body with a spicey bite, tastes of sweet malts with grain and some spice. No real hops presence in taste or bitterness. Not the best Octoberfest. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 1, 2007 12oz bottle. Dark amber body with a small dirty white head. Couldn’t coax much out even with a very aggressive pour. Head is quick to recede. Nose of toasted grains, sweet malts, muted floral hops and dark fleshy fruits. Flavor of sickly sweet malts and cereal grains, and again a muted hop presence. Also get a spice in there that I can’t really pinpoint. High astringency, medium bodied. Oily slick mouthfeel. Finish is bitter, spicy and medium length, fading to being watery at the very end of the swallow. Decent leaning to bad. jason (1625), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Bottle. I found this to be barely drinkable. The toasted malt is almost too pungent and sweet. Very sugary and a really weak and foul mouthfeel. ChainGangGuy (2613), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Appearance: Pours an exceptionally amber body with a small, fizzy off-white head.
Smell: Aroma with a strong estery fruitiness as well as hints of grain and caramelized sugar.
Taste: Flavor of light caramel, bread, and poached fruit. Strong yeastiness. Finishes with a less than enjoyable sour bitterness. Tinny aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: This one was an absolute chore to finish. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go lie down. NJJereme (272), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Pours a nice copper color with a medium white head. Has more of a malt taste than a hop taste, since it is described as an ale, I thought it might be more bitter so a little disappointing in that respect. A little flat on the palate. Better than your standard macro though. Overall, pretty average. skibumphishead (180), USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/20 | Sep 26, 2007 this is on par with all the other otter creek beers that i have had... The flavors are nutty and the hops are hardly there. It is spicy and light, but nothing special. The BBC Octoberfest has been the best fall seasonal that I have had so far. nearbeer (1872), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
