IT TASTES A LOT LIKE A DISGUISED MACRO BORE. man am i pissed i paid $7.49 for six. looks like orange kool aid. tastes like caramel and weak broomstraw. why give it a good palate? it is totally indistinguished! slight hop finish is totally unacceptable as an octoberfest. will not finish the bottle! aahhh might have been a bit hasty you know the last beer in that sixer went down pretty good it was a bit more hoppy. will try again soon. hopson (595), Williamsville, New York, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 5, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours a light amber color with a small off-white head. Smells of herbs and spices with a malty backbone. Very "dry" smelling. Taste is mainly malt and more of the spices (hops) that were found in the aroma. Earthy taste. Bit of astringency in the taste... almost bottle-like taste. A little rocky on the palate, chalky on the back of the tongue. It’s an OK beer, just didn’t appeal to me too much. Not as good as the other Oktoberfests I’ve had so far this season. MrBendo (1044), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Bottle. Clear burnt orange color with a medium head. Good lacing and good retention. Aroma of caramel malts, grassy hops and yeast. Taste was a lot of caramel and sweet grains. A bit syrupy. Medium body. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Pours a beautiful amber body and a tall light tan head. The aroma is vast with a caramel maltyness and strong with the use of spicy Hellertau hops. I don’t particularly enjoy Helleryau hops, they oddly remind me of cat pee , that’s just my particular feeling. So, the big use of that particular hop variety kind of ruined the beer experience for me.
The palate had a medium mouthfeel… a fairly well made beer… just wasn’t brewed with ME in mind.

Thin earthy malt sweetness with a bit of brown sugar, light vienna malt. Slightly unclean, but it comes across as a bit spicy. Earthy noble hop flavour. Decent balance and easy to drink but it’s not all that great either.
