Aroma is a bit of sweet caramels, hops, and a touch of yeast. Flavor is malty, with a bit of spice in it. Overall this is a fine beer for the coming months in the fall. cheapdark (2026), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 21, 2007 Pretty clear pale orangish color. Perhaps a little sweetness in this yeasty aroma. Can’t read the date on this 12 oz twist off cap bottle. Slight petroleum taste on the back of the palate. Has more bitter personality compared to other fest beers. Good medium carbonation. Building controlled malt bitterness parks itself in the finish and hangs around for a while. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Just bottled, very fresh, consumed August 2007
Clear filtered copper colored body with a tan to off-white head. Dusty and sandy malt profile in the nose, metallic and rusty, coarse burnt oranges, heavy bread crust, and a certain unappealing twang to the metallic, grainy malts. Taste is clean and uninspired - straightforward crisp grains, hay, crackers and bread crust, along with a small amount of said twang. Overall below average for Marzen.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Date on bottle is 07/06, so its a year old. pours a dormant transluscent copper/orange with a quickly fading fizzy white head. The aroma is low in hops, but high in yeast and sweet caramel malts that when combined smells like burnt candied sugar. The flavour is equally as malty and also tastes like burnt candied sugar, with a slightly spicy, dry finish. The palate was lacking carbonation in my opnion and was a bit thin (not quite medium bodied). Overall, this is a pretty good, enjoyable marzen. Good for one or two, but not a sixer I would like to pound. tagz (334), USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 15, 2007 Cloudy orange amber with thick head. Strong yeast/hop aroma. Malty light taste but high carbination overtakes the flavor. Yeast/carbonation overwhelms. 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 14, 2007 This offering from Otter Creek pours a medium amber color, clear body, with a small, fizzy off-white head. Virtually no lacing over a fully diminishing head. Aroma is odd...the first whiff is very undesirable, but balances out slightly once it’s in our sniffers. Specific aroma is indistinguishable. Taste is oddly similar to water, neither bitter nor sweet. Light body, dry on the palate, with lively carbonation. Malty finish.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2007 Looks like your classic marzen, translucent coppery orange with a whispy white head. I was surprised by the amount of hops in the aroma with a background of grain and yeast. The flavor was fantastic. Malty and sweet but incredibly balanced. I think the low alcohol allows the essence of fall to come through in this beer. I loved this beer, it’s everything good beer should be, subtle and savory and greater than the sum of it’s parts. verymerrymonk (257), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
