Big head out of the bottle. This is a solid Oktoberfest beer. There’s better but this is very tasty. Otter creek makes very good beers and this is no exception. Another beer I would claim is rated a little lower than it deserves.

(12 oz bottle, obtained in trade with Eyedrinkale, thanks Mike!) I’m not a fan of the American Oktoberfests that are sugary sweet (as opposed to malty sweet). Fortunately, this isn’t one of those beers. This isn’t especially flavorful, but it actually is pretty earthy and woody, fairly malty, and not very sweet at all. It’s also pretty mild on the hops, and is lightly bitter in the finish. It has a fairly malty nose, and smells a bit sweeter than it tastes. Pretty average body for the style, and also a bit on the dry side compared to most other Oktoberfests. Light amber in color. Small off-white head settles to a sheen, but leaves many fingerlike patches of lace around the glass. It’s unusual for the style, and drinkable, but probably not something I’d seek out.

11.29.04 12oz bottle. Looks like a typical o-fest, darker. Spicey-hoppy aromas and lots of sweet malt. Good balance of autumn sweetness and spicey earth flavors and bread crust. Pretty hoppy.

Browner- amber cloudy appearance. Aroma metalicky, but some spices, decent head. Bit metalicky taste, light spices. Good balance, pretty good.
