| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2008 22oz bottle poured into a Melbourne Bros. glass. Pours black with a medium sized tan head. This is a very two faced beer. In both the flavor and aroma the beer has really good aspects, especially for the style. Aroma has aspects of tobacco, ash, roast, and a syrupy dark sweetness. However, the aroma also ends up a bit fecal, lightly plastic, and almost artificial. Taste is similarly full of rich sticky Jamaican stout flavors but again finishes with metal, and stripped flavors. I can range the scores depending on which aspects I choose to concentrate on. But in general the flavors at the end just seem to ruin all of it. This beer has a lot of potential but it needs some work as of now. Otherwise, average mouthfeel with carbonation. kiefdog (1631), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2008 Pours dark brown with amber edges and thin off white head. The aroma is roasty, earthy, muted coffee and faint burnt malts. The taste runs into burnt malts and coffee notes that become somewhat astringent. By midway milder notes of roasted malts and earthiness join in and move the experience to the finish. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
