| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2008 Black with small tan head. Big roastyness with a hint of creosote in the aroma. Roasty, almost burnt malt and sugar flavors with a moderate amount of roast astringency. Fairly light mouthfeel with a dry slightly sour and astringent almost peaty finish. Trace of alchohol creeps through into the finish also. Very tasty. michael-pollack (2739), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

The only thing visually missing is a lasting head. This stout is creamy with hints of coffee, spice and alcohol. I like the burn effect from the cane sugar. It’s a nice flavor that really makes this beer stand out. dkachur (2425), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Nose is roasty dark malt, chocolate, rummy spirity notes, and nuts. Tastes dry and stays rather dry for my palate, giving dark malt coupled with a dark chocolate and some definite spirity notes as it wamrs. This one is original and enjoyable. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
