Commercial Description:
Otter Creek World Tour -- Next Stop: Japan. Japan is famous for sake, wich is brewed with rice - the main staple in Japan. These days, however, the Japanese are drinking more beer than sake - although the brewers still use plenty of rice in their brews. Japanese tradition calls for special sakes and beers to be brewed in celebration of spring. Here's our version: a pale amber full-bodied ale brewed with pilsner malt, Hallertauer hops, rice (of course), authentic Koji and sake yeast. Kanpei!

Bomber courtesy my buddy Ian. Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head. Fruity rice graininess aroma with a touch of mustiness. Taste is smooth pilsener style malt, euro hops and fruity yeast esters and a little sweetness. Odd brew, but I enjoyed it.

Bottle (22oz). Clear amber, average fizzy white head. Dry, slightly spicy sweet malt aroma, I guess that’s rice - ehh, a little papery. The taste is very very sweet - like ... watered down sweet wine, sweet "red" cereal grain - quite perfumey. Light body, sharp carbonation, sweet pungent floral finish. Kind of like it, but it’s odd, that’s for sure.

Bomber. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber color. A small, foamy, off-white head settles slowly. Minimal, wet and spotty lacing shows on the glass. The aroma is truly unique, showing a creamy pilsner malt profile with notes of golden raisin and orchard fruits. There’s a very doughy yeast scent, but also some clean rice and sake notes. Flavors follow suit, quite creamy and pils-like up front, transitioning into a sort of fruity, yeasty, Belgian golden ale profile. There are subtle complexities all over the place that can easily be overlooked here. Medium bodied, smooth and easy going, the mouthfeel favors sessioning over slow, deep contemplation. Very interesting. This brew isn’t a crowd pleaser, but it is underrated and needs to be experienced to be appreciated.

Pours goldand hazy with a generous white head. Smells appley with some dry malty undertones. Tastes of dry malt with some sweet fruity elements on the finish. Unusual.

pours a nice clear honey color with a thin white head that retains well. not a fan of the aroma which is yeasty, doughy, dusty, and has a dry rice aroma. flavor is doughy and dusty as well with a light mouthfeel. the finish is mildly reminiscent of saki.

Bottle. Sweet-sour aroma. Light orange body, white head. Odd flavor of semi-sweet rice, very different.
