Commercial Description:
Summer Wheat Ale is a highly drinkable, light bodied ale. The use of wheat and careful hopping produce a beer with a flavor that is slightly tart, with a citrus-like finish. Available May to September

3-May-07 12oz bottle. Clear golden color with medium sized, mostly lasting, slightly sticky white head. Aroma is fresh and fruity with notes of pear, mixed citrus, green pepper. Mild but pleasant tartness at the front of the sip gives way to a barrage of blandness and aggressive eff. Finishes mildly wheaty, faintly fruity. Drinkable but seems unnecessarily bland.

12 oz bottle with maniac and the Richmond crew. Clear gold with no head. Grainy sweet nose with some grassy hop. Sweet wheaty nose, some grass and citrus. Flavor follows. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale gold with an average size diminishing white head. Malty aroma with wheat, grain, spices and a hint of fruit (mainly citrus) and light hops. Slightly watery flavour of wheat, citrus, spices and a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. It’s alright for what it is I guess..

Dirty and metallic. Distinctly tart from the wheat. Maybe a little skunky tasting. Light and biscuity malt, but not good. A fair amount of lemon and grass. I guess this is about what an american wheat is supposed to be, but it’s not all that good.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grainy and yeasty. Flavor is citrus and yeast. Nothing really going on here. Just an average brew.

Same bottle codes as jpm30’s below.    Pours a healthy-urine gold color with a turnaround-fast white head. Aroma finds mild skunk (otter?), mild florals, mild nuttiness and touches of pale fruit. Flavor finds mild bitterness with mild nutty and mineral notes. In a word (you guessed it)... mild.

Note: My wife (who didn’t like this in the least), wanted to see RAYBOY01’s comments on this because of how pithy he can be in his reviews of sub-standard product.

Bottle Sept 2006. Poured gold; very little haze. Smell was very light. Aroma was mainly grainy, maybe some malt. Very grainy taste; seemed like a mix between a wheat and lager. Finish was bitter, but not too much. Overall not that good.
