Cloudy pale amber color. Fresh grass nose. Medium (with a name of sparkling ale expecting a bunch) carbonation and light-medium bodied. Flavor is earthy, sweet grass and smooth; slight hoppy finish that lingers. 22oz bottle $3.99 from Capitol Convenience Concord, NH. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 28, 2008 17-Jul-08 (22-oz bottle: Obtained 11-Jan-08 in trade with jjpm74, thanks John!) Expecting a typical pale-colored and easy drinking beer, Otteroo is unexpectedly malty, toasty, earthy and fruity with mild hop flavor and bitterness plus a touch of butteriness. The almost chocolaty earthiness suggests accelerated aging has occurred -- very tasty! The nose is earthy, toasty and somewhat chocolaty, but offers no hop aroma. Again, the impression of a wonderfully cellared beer. Medium-bodied, soft carbonation, smooth and silky on the palate. Golden-amber and slightly hazy with the half-inch of off-white head settling back to a wide ring. Not sure how this beer tasted when fresh, but after six months of personal cellaring, it in no way comes across like an Aussie Sparkling Ale. Very enjoyable. beastiefan2k (1601), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA

Pours a clear orange/amber color with a small head. The clear body shows off a nice sparkling, carbonation-visible body. Aroma is aged malt, been sitting on the selves for probably about 5 months but smells like a few years, but that maube for the best. Its fruity cardboard, lightly Belgian-y dough and lightly sweet. Taste is a bit less aged but still there. Otherwise, a mix of Belgian dough with a light easy drinking pale ale-ish feel. rather fine stuff, no alcohol heft to it at all. I am surprised at the low score. Gets very murky and thick looking with further bottle pours. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Updated: Oct 17, 2007Bottle. pale amber beer with a slight cloudiness. Aroma is very fruity with lots of apple, pear and berry fruitiness. The smell is very reminiscent of Cooper’s sparkling, which I gather is the point. A bit of apricot. Light pale malt, soft minerally bitterness. Very fruity and lightly herbal.
Vermont Brewers Fest ’07. Pale golden beer, thin head. Very faint fruity aroma up front with a cherry/berry yeastiness. Lean pale malts. Low hop aroma and flavour. A bit straight-forward and really unlike anything I had in Australia. No Pride of Ringwood (which I’m definitely not complaining about).
