Commercial Description:
Otter Creek Brewing’s 13th "stop" on the World Tour is available starting in October. "Otter’s Dubbel" is a Belgian-style Dubbel. True to style, it is rich and malty with a hint of caramel. The caramel comes from the use of a traditional ingredient in Belgian ales- dark candy sugar.

22 0z bottle. Large foamy head over very dark brown body. Aroma of bread, yeast, raisins. Flavor was bitter, almost like sourdough bread. Or as Bman1113vr put it when we sampled it together "a rotten fruit roll-up". Also a sour grape flavor.

22oz bottle as part of the "World Tour" Pack. Pours with a small tan head over a near black, dark brown body. Head fades and leaves minimal lace. Aroma of dark fruits, vinous, chocolate, ash, tobacco, metal, soil and spices. Taste is dark fruits, metallic, vinous, caramel, ash, and rotting fruit roll up. Way over hopped for the style. Lively carbonation.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a one finger light tan head. Aroma was tart and sour with light fruit, malts, yeast, and notes of vinegar. Flavor was slightly sour with toasted malts, yeasty funk, and a hint of caramel and had a metallic aftertaste. Dont bother

22 ounce bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is faint with notes of brown sugar, toffee and a sourness that should not be there. Taste is that same sourness, yet much more so. Other than that some earthy toffeish notes. Faint hops. Medium bodied. Cooked bottle and a miss by the brewery.

Pours a two finger light tan head that fades quickly to a thin layer, leaving traces of lace. Cloudy mahogany color. Strong carbonation and medium bodied. Slight malty nose. Flavor is tart with hints of caramel, unusual for a Belgian dubbel. $4.85 for a 22oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

16oz draft pours medium brown with a ton of carbonation. Sweet aroma with a bit of yeast. Very sweet body with alot of candy sugars and bubble gum in the background. Ehh. Nothing special.

Pours reddish brown with a thin tan head. Smells and tastes fruity with some sweet sugary elements and a spicy finish. Decent.

Bottle. Aroma is strong vinegar and sour fruit. Deep brown body, very small head. Flavor sways heavily to the sour side, not sure if pleasantly or not, but seems to become more palatable with additional sips. Certainly a nonconformist to expectations of a Dubbel.
